The 2nd edition was printed in December of 2012.
The 3rd edition was published as an ebook in May of 2015.
The 4th edition was published as a paperback in November of 2017.

Three-Dimensional Christian

As you might guess, this is a term with multiple interrelated layers of meaning.

At its most basic, a three-dimensional Christian understands he or she is a spirit who has a soul which dwell in a body.
Shallow understanding sees only the body. Such leads to hedonism's void.
Another flat understanding sees only soul, or mind. Such leads to scientism's threat to all life on the planet.
People of wisdom are not limited to the physical and the mental. They discern the spiritual dimension.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

A three-dimensional Christian is an artistic Christian. Such a person partakes of the experience of other people communicated through their art. In doing so, they transcend the "one eye" of their own existential isolation. This triangulation created by the view from other people's lives produces depth perception.

A three-dimensional Christian is a person of empathy. They transcend their own selfishness. Since Jesus, the Creator of the universe, came to serve, obviously a life of service is not weak.

A three-dimensional Christian possesses wisdom. The classic example of the three-dimensional nature of wisdom begins with the religious leaders of the day trying to trap Jesus.
Luke 20:22-25 Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or no?
But He perceived their craftiness, and said to them, Why do you tempt Me? Show Me a penny. Whose face and name is on it?
They answered and said, Caesar's.
Jesus said to them, Render therefore to Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's.

Jesus engulfed their two-dimensional trap in a three-dimensional space where the conflicting answers passed by one another without touching because they were not on the same plane.

The three-dimensional Christian sees life as a gemstone of depth with many united facets. Art is how you rotate the gemstone to see a different facets of one and the same jewel.

The term connects to
Proverbs 1:5-6 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain to wise counsels: to understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
Why are the sayings dark?
I Corinthians 2:14 The natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Only a man or woman of wisdom, alive to the Spirit, can discern the things of God. A flat person does not even perceive the dimension.

The term very specifically relates to Viktor Frankl's concept of dimensional ontology, particularly as it is found in his book The Will to Meaning. The shadow cast by a three-dimensional object is two-dimensional. The shadow is not inaccurate. It is incomplete. A three-dimensional Christian refuses to live as a shadow.
This concept in turn certainly connects to Plato's Allegory of the Cave found in The Republic, Book VII.

The term references Mirror Covenant's album series Quest To Be Whole. The songs on each album are deliberately sequenced. The albums in the series are deliberately sequenced. The third dimension is the host of relationships among the albums and songs made explicit by hyperlinks in the descriptions.

The term represents the structure of Transapparent, where the chapter songs create a third level of relationships.

The Bible as a hypertext document is the great three-dimensional object. The Bible is so richly self-referential as to render it self-interpreting.

The ultimate in three-dimensionality is, of course, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

To summarize, a three-dimensional Christian is a living spirit who will only die once because he or she has been born twice.
Revelation 20:6A Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power...
Revelation 20:14-15 Death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

When this living spirit has matured, has followed the command to
Romans 12:2 Be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
then wisdom's discernment enables them to look on the hidden man of the heart.
I Peter 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
Such a Christian's vision transcends the apparent. Hence the novel's title.

The songs in Transapparent connect back to this website. That page lists the lyric links. The connections between the lyrics and the chapters constitute one way Transapparent is three-dimensional. The lyrics create relations within the novel, particularly between chapters, that are difficult to communicate in any other way.

The most ambitious level of three-dimensional communication is derived from the full content of the lyrics as described in this website, which transcend the aspects used inside the novel.
